The Sour Apple Martini
Ebay Shipping Gougers!
Ya know, I buy a fair amount of "stuff" from sellers on ebay. Heck, I've even sold a few things and made a tidy profit too boot. But what I have never done is gouge someone on shipping and handling. Give me a break!
I recently won auctions of 3 sewing magazines for a total value of about $6.00. With "combined" shipping, the seller wanted me to pay $11.40 in shipping - within the northern U.S.! I emailed back and asked that they send them all in a flat rate $3.95 USPS Priority envelope, which they did. The could have also been shipped media mail rate, which would have been less expensive, but slower.
By the way, the USPS provides priority evelopes, boxes, etc., - free of charge! You can even order them on line and your friendly mail-person will deliver them to your door. How's that for customer service? Puts a bit of a damper of that "handling charge" doesn't it. Some sellers could stand a lesson in customer service from the USPS.
I don't mind paying - but don't gouge me. If I wanted to pay the high dollar, I'd be shopping at Bloomies!
